    Programmes & Schemes for Agriculture Development

    1. National Food Security Mission (NFSM) – 2007
    • Launched during 11th Five Year Plan.
    • Objective: To increase production of rice, wheat, pulses, coarse cereals, and commercial crops.
    • Components: NFSM-Rice, NFSM-Wheat, NFSM-Pulses, NFSM-Coarse Cereals, NFSM-Nutri-cereals, and NFSM-Commercial Crops.
    1. Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) – 2007
    • To ensure holistic development of agriculture and allied sectors.
    • Focus: Crop diversification, farm mechanization, extension services, value addition.
    1. Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) – 2015
    • Motto: Har Khet Ko Pani”.
    • Components:
      • Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme (AIBP).
      • Per Drop More Crop (micro-irrigation).
      • Watershed Development.
    1. Soil Health Card Scheme – 2015 mProvides farmers soil health reports every 2 years. Advises nutrient management practices for balanced fertilization.
    1. Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY) – 2015-16 Promotion of organic farming through cluster approach. Each cluster covers 20 ha land, certification provided.
    1. National Mission on Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA) – 2010 (under NAPCC) Objective: Climate-resilient agriculture. Focus: Water-use efficiency, soil health, nutrient management, rainfed area development.
    1. National Project on Organic Farming (NPOF) – 2004 Focus on organic inputs (bio-fertilizers, compost, etc.). Training, certification, and quality control.
    1. Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) – 2014 Umbrella scheme for horticulture development. Sub-missions: NHM (National Horticulture Mission), NHB, CDB, CIH, HMNEH.
    1. National Agriculture Market (e-NAM) – 2016 Online trading platform for agricultural commodities. Unifies APMC markets to ensure better price discovery.
    1. National Mission on Edible Oils – Oil Palm (NMEO-OP) – 2021 Focus: Reducing import dependence on edible oils. Promotion of oil palm cultivation.
    1. Kisan Credit Card (KCC) – 1998 Institutional credit for farmers. Coverage: Crop loan, consumption needs, allied activities.
    1. PM Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) – 2016 Crop insurance scheme replacing NAIS & MNAIS. Premium: 2% (Kharif), 1.5% (Rabi), 5% (Commercial/Horticulture).
    1. Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) – 2019 Direct income support to farmers. ₹6,000 per year in three installments.
    1. National Mission on Agricultural Extension & Technology (NMAET) – 2014 Strengthening extension services. Components: ATMA, Agri mechanization, Seed & Planting material, Plant Protection.
    1. National Mission on Oilseeds & Oil Palm (NMOOP) – 2014 To increase area, production & productivity of oilseeds.
    1. Gramin Bhandaran Yojana (Rural Godown Scheme) – 2001 Provides subsidy for construction of rural godowns. Aim: Prevent post-harvest losses, ensure better storage.
    1. Integrated Scheme on Oilseeds, Pulses, Oil Palm & Maize (ISOPOM) – 2004 To promote oilseeds, pulses, maize, oil palm cultivation with subsidy.
    1. National Project on Management of Soil Health & Fertility (NPMSHF) – 2008 Balanced use of fertilizers, strengthening soil testing labs.
    1. National Agroforestry Policy – 2014 Promotes tree plantation on farmland for sustainability.
    1. Kisan Call Centres (KCCs) – 2004 Toll-free helpline (1800-180-1551) for farmers to get agri-advisory services.
